Name of Destination Estivant Pines Nature Sanctuary Nearest City/State/Country Copper Harbor, MI Why you chose this location? I really wanted to see the majesty of old growth White Pine groves. What you liked about this trip? The pristine beauty of this 508 acre nature sanctuary captivated me as I hiked through the Massive White Pines. There are two loops that wind through the groves and the terrain is really cool. What you didn't like about this trip The Black Flies. Bring some bug spray. Advice for others who might go here Definitely, White Pine is what put Michigan on the map back in history. It is must see for any tree huggers out there!! Advice for others who might go here It is a bit off the beaten path and you'll have to drive on active logging roads so be careful as you drive to the Sanctuary.
