description
You’ll get two servings from this pouch, but we doubt you’ll want to share. Our spin on this classic Indian curry dish from the Punjab region features delectable chickpeas in a blend of chilies and rice. It’s also high in protein and calories, making it the perfect way to refuel after a long day spent outside. You’ll hardly believe that a pot, water, heat, and 15-20 minutes of rehydration time is all that lies between you and a lightweight, nutritionally balanced meal.
A full flavored, delicious, vegan meal for backpacking or at your desk. Two hearty servings provide high protein, nutritionally balanced vegetarian comfort food for the longest of days. Highest quality turmeric is used for brain and joint health. The authentic spices and coconut milk are a rich base for the rice, freeze-dried garbanzos and vegetables in this international favorite from the Punjab region of India. Backpacker’s Pantry Chana Masala is the best meal outside of a 5 star Indian restaurant you can find and it is yours to enjoy on a mountain top, on a sailboat, in a tent or a bird blind. Traveling with Backpacker’s Pantry Chana Masala is a cinch because of it’s durable compact packaging & it conveniently only needs two cups of boiling water and about 20 minutes hydration time to make a two serving pouch. Enjoy as a side dish if you are car camping & grilling a chicken breast. Don’t forget the naan! Also delicious as a room temperature salad for lunch or rolled in a tortilla. Just hydrate at camp in the morning & bring along for later.

Very Poor Poor Average Very Good Excellent

Oh man, good food Homie - May 5, 2016 Eaten on the banks of the Manistee River after a cloudy and soggy day of kayaking, this meal was a big hit. The texture on the rice and chick peas was spot on and the spice mix was super tasty. This dish is spicy but not burning hot so you can pick up the flavors. We ate this wrapped in tortillas to make it go farther.
